Interview with IDTA Member Martina L

Dani: Hello, Marti.

Marti: Hi, Dani. How are you?

Dani: Good. Thanks for doing this with me. So let’s just start with who you are, where you’re from, your background.

Marti: Okay. My name is Martina. I live currently in Brisbane, originally from Germany, and my job is nine to five. I live by myself. I’ve got a mortgage. So yeah.

Dani: And prior to joining IDTA, had you ever traded before, or was it the first time you’ve been exposed to it?

Marti: I’ve seen charts before, but never I’ve used to know somebody who was, share trading. And but, yeah, never understood it or anything, but it’s always intrigued me.

Dani: How did you come across IDTA then?

Marti: I went to a conference, that was for, it was a women’s con conference a couple years ago. And, Ingela was there and did a talk on on trading futures trading and IDTA. And Kelly was there as well, and that was really exciting.

Dani: Yeah. It was really good. And, so you joined. Obviously, you’re inspired to join and start learning at a trade.

Marti: Yep.

Dani: What were your first impressions when you first started? Of trading? Or Yeah. Like, of the company? Was it what you expected?

Marti: I was well, I was drawn to you know, after the talk that Ingla did and and getting to meet them and Kelly, you know, it was immediately I felt I felt a warm feeling, a welcoming feeling. And, yeah, and I was drawn to, you know, the potential of making a profit off rising and falling markets. And, you know, that that really interested me. So, yeah, so we had our, initial session was like a free LTR session.

So we got an insight of what goes on. And, yeah, that was that was different language altogether. And yeah. But it was exciting, you know, learning something new. So yeah.

Dani: Has anything surprised you over time that you didn’t expect in regards to learning at a trade or anything else?

Marti: I think just as a whole, you know, there’s so many elements to IDTA. You know, there’s, you you know, everyone is so transparent. The the the learning, you know, as I mean, from when I started, learning has changed a little bit. So it’s a much easier to follow.

The coaching, the just, education. The support and the mentorship, the community, the tools and the resources that all come with it are just amazing.

Dani: And would you say that you’re trading more confidently with how you’re reading the story over time? Are you seeing things easier?

Marti: Absolutely. Yeah. Absolutely. It’s yeah. No.

The essentials has just been great. You know, the LTR is great. You learn a lot in there. And it’s just time in the charts as well. You know, you gotta I mean, I pick my market.

I’ll I’ll do the Asia market and the Europe open. And, you learn the movement of the market. And, you know, it’s all overwhelming to start with, you know, the language and stuff. But once it does start sinking in and you see start to see little things, and you think, is that really a reversal? Can I really see that?

And, yeah, it’s amazing. And then when you when you get that first trade and it works and you followed your plan, it’s just amazing. It’s an amazing feeling.

Dani: Very satisfying, isn’t it?

Marti: Yeah. Absolutely.

Dani: So if you could go back, what would you tell yourself before joining IDTA? What advice would you give yourself before joining?

Marti: I wish I was younger, and I would have taken out.

Dani: Would you do anything different?

Marti: No. I think I just enjoyed the whole journey of from where we got to know, you know, meet IDTA at that conference to, you know, going into the whole process of of doing the first course and then, getting to meet people, like, doing the workshops, doing TBS.

Dani: You did Trading business school as well. Didn’t you?

Marti: Yeah. That was that was amazing. The the three day workshops are just awesome.

And I think we were such a great group. You know? We just got on so well, and we just, learned from each other. And the whole process, I think you learn so much about yourself. And I think as a person, I’ve grown so much.

You know? I think I’ve become calmer. I, yeah. You know, it’s just amazing. And even other people see it, can see it.

You know?

Dani: So was that one of the most surprising aspects of learning how to trade? You didn’t expect it to be a personal growth journey as well. Yeah?

Marti: Absolutely. Yeah.

You gotta think of that. You look at the chart, you say, oh, that’s great. You know? I put a trade on, I can make money. But then there’s all the other things like the mindset and all that comes into it.

That’s a big thing.

Dani: So would you recommend IDTA to others? And if so, why?

Marti: Oh, yeah. IDTA, definitely a game changer for your trading journey. You know, you have a structured learning environment. You, have a strong support system, you know, which gives you confidence, helps you building your your knowledge, you know, and you you you can use the resources, and the mentorship is amazing.

And yeah. And, you know, there’s a lot of cowboys out there, you know, when you go out there and and try to look for someone to to join, and I think everyone does it. You know, once they they get interested and they’ll go and look other places, but I think, yeah, no. I think I’ve made the right choice.

Dani: You’ve found your home.

Marti: It’s just so you feel like you’re part of a family, which is great. And and and you have other opportunities in within IDTA as well if you want them.

Dani: You’re about to start learning how to be a coach.

Marti: Yeah.

Dani: And that’s testament to your growth and your journey. And, I’ve seen your journey unfold over the last, you know, few years, and you’ve been nothing short of inspiring to watch. So so, yeah, thank you for joining me today.
